Mob Rule Imminent

Wilson or won't he?

We're heads up in The Hendon Mob Warm Up, and it looked like it might be all over for Peter Zolnai - a quick raising war became an all-in showdown just as I approached the table, Zolnai the player at risk with A2 against what looked like the K6 of his much more healthily stacked opponent Simon Wilson. Ace-high was good enough in the end, though, and Zolnai doubled up to around 700k against Wilson's 2.4 million. The various Hendon Mob representatives, who'd been craning their necks in anticipation of springing into action around the winner, sunk back into their chairs instead, and the heads up continues. "I should have taken the trophy," laughed Wilson, which I took to mean that they already did some sort of deal - we'll try to find out details on that. But the final result - and who gets to be listed as winner on the Hendon Mob site itself - remains to be decided.

Oh by the way, I'm not sure we mentioned it earlier, but the last five players standing in this event also received a bonus prize in the form of a €250 ticket to The Hendon Mob Championship event running here in Bratislava in November. Poor old Greg Partridge - who if you remember busted out on the bubble - also got a seat to that as a consolation prize.
