After what felt like an endless back and forth, CasinoFriday’s Frode Fagerli has triumphed against Pokerlistings’ Mauritz Altikardes in the €1,000 Acroud charity event. The final hand looked like so:
Mauritz: 2 2 on the button
Frode: A 7 in the big blind
Board: 4 J A 8 5
Both players’ chosen charities will get paid (we’re not sure which charities they’ve chosen – we’ll hopefully know tomorrow), but Frode’s one will get €4,800 while Mauritz’ will get €3,200. Congratulations, both!
After a few rounds of nothing-y hands, finally some action!
Mauritz Altikardes (BB): A 7

Mauritz doubles up to 24k – although Frode still has a roughly 2:1 chip lead.
There was a little something on the A K 4 flop for both Simon Brannstrum and Frode Fagerli; the chips duly went in, and Brannstrum duly went out.

We are now heads up, Frode Fagerli holding a big chip lead over Mauritz Altikardes. First place will get to pick the charity that receives €4,800, second place will decide which good cause gets €3,200.
Simon Brannstrum limped in with 5 6 under the gun, and on the button Svein Olav did likewise with 9 9 – interesting. Frode Fagerli however moved in with 10 10 in the small blind, and, once Brannstrum had got out of the way, Olav called to see the bad news.
Board: 5 7 Q 6 K , changing absolutely nothing
Thus Coolbet’s Svein Olav becomes our fourth place finisher, while Norwegians head honcho Frode Fagerli moves on to the bubble along with Mauritz Altikardes and online qualifier Simon Brannstrum.
Svein Olav jammed the button with 3 3 for about 12 big blinds and was looked up by Mauritz Altikardes with K J from the big blind.
Olav won the flip after Altikardes bricked the 4 4 6 7 2 board to get back into the thick of things.

A bit of a cooler for Coolbet’s Ylva Thorsrud, who has become our latest elimination in this charity event.
Holding 8 5 against Matching Vision online qualifier Simon Brannstrum’s J 10 , Thorsrud bet out on the turn of a K 6 Q 9 board with her straight flush draw, presumably unaware that Brannstrum already had the nut straight. Thorsrud’s baby straight came in on the 7 river and she bet out 3k, before calling for her last 2.5k to the raise from Brannstrum, and then she was gone.
Brannstrum is up to 17.7k.
A grave mistake from Acroud CEO Ruben Grave – he whacked it in with J 9 and got quickly picked off by Mauritz Altikardes with A K .

Five players remain in this charity event.
The board read 3 5 2 7 when Mauritz Altikardes set Franke in; Franke made the call and was soon at the rail.
Mau: K 7 for a pair of sevens
Franke: Q 3 for just a pair of threes

Mau is now our chip leader on 33k.
Olympic Casino’s own Karev Tralla has just become the first player to hit the rail in the charity event after a bit of a silly hand. He opened with 9 3 in early position and faced a reraise from Mauritz Altikardes holding A 6 ; Franke called with the mighty 4 2 , and so did Tralla.
I just confess I missed exactly how it came to this, but the flop was 5 2 8 and suddenly Tralla was all in against Franke. The A turn and K river changed absolutely nothing and Franke’s pair of deuces beat Tralla’s absolute nothing, which is precisely what whichever charity Tralla was hoping to support will now get.
Anyone hoping to see some high-level play in this charity event is likely to be disappointed…
With €8,000 in the prize pool, the winner of the Acroud Charity Invitational will get to pick which charity receives €4,800, while the runner up will get to decide the charitable fate of the remaining €3,200. No info yet on which charities each player will be nominating, but we’ll update you if and when we find out.

The Acroud Charity Tournament will see eight players representing Acroud, The Festival Series and their partners: Matching Visions, PokerListings, Coolbet and Olympic Casino, competing for an €8,000 prize pool in support of a good cause. The sum will be then split 60/40 between the winner and the runner-up and donated to their chosen NGO or Charity.
