Champions Crowned on Fourth Day at The Festival in Rozvadov

The Festival in Rozvadov is now almost at the half way point. Monday’s action focused on the conclusions of both The Hendon Mob Championship and the H.O.R.S.E.S Mixed Main Event.

€250 The Hendon Mob Championship

The largest ever Hendon Mob Championship was won by Majid Alimoradpour from Iran, who overcame Czech player Marek Soukop after a 3-hour heads battle. It was a serious end to what was a fun event and despite there being an equal deal (€35,250 each, including WSOPE seats) after the first hour of heads up play, they carried on for another two hours for the trophy and the added package of a €2,000 package to The Hendon Mob Championship in Cape Town in November.

Remarkably, this was Majid’s first ever live result, so he will not only earn a Czech flag on his Hendon Mob profile, he will also have to be added to the database.

With a total of 825 entries, this is the biggest edition of The Hendon Mob Championship that has ever been staged, however it missed its €200,000 guarantee by just over €25,000.

Further reports and the final table result can be found on The Festival Series blog.

€550 H.O.R.S.E.S Mixed Games Main Event

Sascha Manns went one better than his second place finish in the 8-Game event, solidly defeating a field of 46 runners to claim the €8,788 first prize and his first ever trophy at The Festival Series in the Mixed Games Main Event, with a H.O.R.S.E.S format, which adds Sviten Special to the usual rotation. Sascha put on a mixed games masterclass and its really not after-timing to say that result was never in doubt. He returned with a below average stack, but soon assumed a chip lead that he would never relinquish.
