Four Winners on the Fifth Day of The Festival Series in Rozvadov

Four Winners on the Fifth Day of The Festival Series in Rozvadov

Tuesday was the fifth day of The Festival in Rozvadov and another varied and exciting day for those in attendance. The Mystery Bounty had by far its busiest starting flight and there were three other poker side events which produced another three champions. The highlight of the day however was the record breaking Blackjack tournament, which was a truly exciting event that almost went to a photo finish on the final hand of the last heat of the night

Mystery Bounty Day 1c

Day 1c of the €300 NLH Mystery Bounty mustered 237 entrants, of which 36 (15% of the field) made it through to Day 2. The Swiss player who goes by the nickname ‘King of Kings’ (not Sascha Manns) posted the largest chip stack of 790,000. Also progressing to the second day is online Twitch streamer Aleksandar Georgiev from Bulgaria. He’s not streaming live from here, but he was chip leader for much of the day, before losing a few pots. He bagged 341,000 to take with him into Day 2.

Mixed Games Main Event Champion Sascha Manns played today and also safely progressed to the next stage with 249,000 chips. A special mention also to Lynne Beaumont, who has been a regular on the UK poker circuit for over 20 years. She posted a Day 1c stack of 151,000. Full chip counts of all remaining players will be posted prior to the start of Day 2 at 5pm.

Joakim Olin wins Seniors Event

The €250 Seniors event, for players aged 50 plus saw 68 advanced age poker players take their seats, generating a €14,535 prize pool and paying out nine spots. It was won by Swede Joakim Olin after a 3-way deal, who took the title and €3,720. There was an amusing moment on the final table when just six players remained, just as the PLO Tuesday Knockout was starting, as a young player mistook his table number and tried to join the game.

Siahei Narozhny Scoops Seven Card Stud Fixed Limit

Thirty players turned out to take part in the €220 Seven Card Stud, which might have had greater numbers if it wasn’t taking place at the same time as the Seniors event. The management at The Festival is aware of the scheduling mishap and will avoid such a clash at future editions of The Festival Series.

It was won by Siarhei Narozhny (for €2,850), emulating the feat of Sascha Manns by immediately winning the next tournament he played after finishing runner up in the Mixed Games Main Event. Narozhny (pictured at top of article) is now a strong contender for Player of the Series and as a mixed games specialist he has several more opportunities to move into the top spot, which is unofficially currently occupied by Sascha Manns.

Thomas Gugerbauer Wins PLO Tuesday Knockout

The €125 PLO Knockout was popular, with 96 entries. Bulgarian Lachezar Angelov Tsenov was also looking to pick up back to back trophies, after winning Monday night’s €250 PLO Freezeout. Ivo Gadze from Croatia, was also going for his second win of the series, having claimed Sunday night’s Win The Button tournament.

However both fell short, Tsenov exiting in 4th, while Croatian Gazde just missed out, taking the runner up spot after a deal. It was won by Norwegian Thomas Gugerbauer for €1,319 (not including bounties).

Estonian 1-2 as Maili Tannbaum Takes Blackjack Tournament Title

The €125 Blackjack tournament went down to the wire, the outcome only being decided on the very final hand of the last heat. Estonians Maili Tannbaum and Mati Pirn took the first two places in what was an exciting tournament for observers and those involved.
