Busy Second Day at The Festival in Rozvadov: Key Updates and Tournament Results

Busy Second Day at The Festival in Rozvadov: Key Updates and Tournament Results

On the second day of The Festival in Rozvadov two further flights of €200,000 guaranteed The Hendon Mob Championship were staged, as was the second of three starting days in the €550 H.O.R.S.E.S Mixed Main Event. The €250 PLO Masters and the €125 Saturday Knockout also took place, as did the first heat of the Cash Game Challenge.

THMC Update

Coincidentally, both Day 1c and Day 1d of The Hendon Mob Championship had 176 entrants, which brings the total number of entries up to 590, with just one starting day left. The guarantee is far from secure and an overlay is a distinct possibility, with over 300 entries required to hit the target. In a further coincidence 21 players made it through to Day 2 in each flight.

The chip leader from Day 1c is Martin Wolf, who bagged a healthy 874,000 stack, which at that point was the second biggest stack through to Day 2, 110,000 behind Adam Negreano, who topped the remote starting day at Kings Casino in Prague on Friday. However it was the end of Day 1d chip leader Robert Palasz from Poland who stole the show, bagging an incredible 2,230,000.

Mixed Games Main Event

Another 21 players competed in the second starting day of the €550 H.O.R.S.E.S Mixed Main Event, with seven players securing their places in Monday’s Day 2. The chip leader from the day has bizarrely chosen to remain anonymous, posting a stack of 220,000. It’s bizarre because all of the previous $2.7m worth of cashes dating back to 2001 for the Ukrainian player are publicly available, including very recent scores.

PLO Result

The €250 PLO Masters had 45 entries and was supposed to pay six players, however it ended in a 7-way deal, as many of the players on the final table were keen to watch the Champions League final instead of playing out the event. This was fortunate for short-stacked Jason Glatzer, who was the player most likely to bubble, if the final had been played in regular fashion. German player Matthias Kribben took the most in the deal, before watching Dortmund lose the Champions League final to Real Madrid.

Saturday Knockout Result

The final side event of the day was the €125 Saturday Knockout. There were 188 entries, generating a prize pool of €19,460. It ended in a heads up chop, with Italian Christopher Campisano taking home slightly more than Sturla Hiller from Norway.

Cash Game Challenge

The first of the cash game challenge heats ended with Israeli Yariv Avraham Gabriel posting a 174 big blind profit. He was one of two players who dominated the session, ending marginally ahead of ’Stallion’ in the winner takes challenge. Further heats will take place throughout the rest of the festival.

Sunday Schedule at The Festival in Rozvadov

The third day of The Festival in Rozvadov kicks off with the fifth and final flight of The Hendon Mob Championship. The HORSES also has its last starting day and the €300 Mystery Bounty has its first starting day. There’s also a €250 8-Game starting this afternoon and the 10pm late slot is filled with a €125 NLH Win The Button tournament.

Further heats of the cash game challenge are also scheduled and Franke’s Flip Flops, as rake free flipout competition, has its first session of the series.
